Your boat inspector, Max Laver
Through my years in the marine industry I have identified a gap in the market for practical, straightforward support. Many boat owners are simply requiring advice or a credible professional opinion for their insurer without the cost or complexity of a full marine survey. Often, what's needed is a sounding board, someone to reality check decisions and provide clarity.
In some cases clients are experienced 'boaties' and boat builders who want an independent peer review of their findings and ideas. I provide the fundamentals: clear, concise, professional answers. No fluff, no nonsense.
If you are new to boats I am here to help you manage the process of buying a safe vessel and making sound economical choices.
Good communication
From the onset we take the time to understand your needs, explain the scope of the inspection and set clear expectations so there are no surprises. Throughout the process we keep you informed in plain language and with a straightforward approach.
Thorough
inspections
Our inspections are thorough and focused on key structural elements specific to each vessel with safety always front of mind.
We take a methodical approach assessing areas critical to the boat's integrity and safe operation.
Informative reporting
Our reports are clear and designed to give you a practical understanding of your boat's condition. Each vessel is assessed using defined condition and risk categories.
The result is a straightforward easy to understand report.
Expertise and experience
As a boat owner and boat builder, Max Laver has been involved with boats for most of his life. He studied wooden boat building in Lowestoft and completed the Small Craft Survey Course through the International Institute of Marine Surveyors.
